Children and Youth Partnership, Daniel Tiger is coming to Hatteras Island for Be My Neighbor Day on Saturday, March 7

PBS North Carolina and Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP) invite you to join them for Be My Neighbor Day from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the gymnasium at Cape Hatteras Secondary School. This tigertastic FREE event will celebrate kindness and what it means to be a caring neighbor, while also providing opportunities to connect with community partners and a meet and greet with Daniel Tiger.

Local organizations and community partners will be on hand to offer grr-ific resources and fun, family-friendly activities, including arts and crafts, block play, games, photo opportunities, and more. Local community partners for this event include Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP), the Fessenden Center, Heart Space, Dare County Department of Social Services, Hatteras Island Ocean Center, Dare County Library, Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative, Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, and the Dare County Sheriff’s Office. Be My Neighbor Day is supported by PNC Grow Up Great, Fred Rogers Productions, and Rootle NC.

Children and Youth Partnership is a non-profit organization serving children, youth, and families in Dare County. The Partnership administers the Smart Start program for Dare County for children birth through age five and is a central source of information about activities, programs, and resources for all children and their caregivers.
